What is emotional robustness?
And emotional toughness?
Emotional robustness and emotional toughness (resilience) are what keep us going when the world seems to conspire against us. It's what makes the difference between those who give up and those who don't. It's a set of tools and techniques for staying strong and keeping going in the face of difficulties and setbacks which mean other leaders, other managers, give in.
Imagine how much more you could achieve if you could keep going just that extra 10% when things go wrong again and again and again...
Anyone can be a leader or a manager when things are going well. It's how we lead in the bad times that's important - and to cope with the bad times you need to be able to keep it together; to be emotionally robust, mentally tough.
It's not about being 'hard' or 'nasty', it's about being robust; it's about resilience.
Can you actually learn emotional toughness and resilience?
It's true that some people seem to be more naturally emotionally robust than others. For whatever reason, they've developed mental toughness.
But that doesn't mean there aren't thoroughly researched, scientifically validated techniques which will improve the emotional robustness and resilience of almost anyone. The tools we provide in this workshop have been developed by therapists and counsellors - but we have modified them here for use in the 'real world', not the therapy room.
